{Work in Progress Wednesday}

“There is no time for cut-and-dried monotony. There is time for work. And time for love. That leaves no other time.”

We’d love to see your works in progress. Something that makes you feel simple or creative.  Something you’re making. Something you’re doing (folding a pile of laundry–again?). Something you’re planning. Share in the comments!

  1. I am in the middle of a scarf – I bought some deliciously soft yarn just to make it. The pattern is called Flame Chevron Scarf on ravelry.

  2. Love your blog, Heather. I so enjoy waking up to a new post most days….how do you find the time to write?!? My homeschool days did not afford me much extra time, though I’m sure glad you find the time.

    I’ve been knitting up baby sweaters as my nieces and nephews are now having babies. Much fun. :)

    My latest project was a baby sweater for a school auction. The school colors are green/gold and their mascot is the Grizzlies, hence the teddy bear buttons. (I’d post a photo of it…if I could figure out how to post it!)

    The pattern is one from my Grandmas vintage pattern stash. I love it because it is knit from the top down….raglan sleeves, all one piece….no seams! Another bonus, it comes in sizes to fit infant through adult.

    • Sarah,
      Finding time to write is something of a balancing act, as you can imagine. I grab bits and pieces of time here and there, but mainly I use our family rest time– an hour or so break in the afternoon where we all just sit and try to be still. I think it’s important for our children to see us doing the things that we love as well as the things we must do, so as to better respect us as individuals, not solely as “mother.” For that reason, I read, I knit, I bake, I sew, and I write while my children are nearby. I’m always ready to drop things when needed, but the joy I get out of sharing these pieces of my heart and soul with them are well worth partaking of my joys while they look on.

  3. such a beautiful shawl…….love the colors! And a sweet helper you have there too!!
