Dear homeschooling families,

For three years, my wife has planted sunflowers with the hope of watching them grow into a sunflower house for the children.

The first, year, nothing happened, not a bud.

The second year, a few plants grew, stunted, and the only sunflower turned its lonely head away from us in scorn.

This year, not willing to give up, my wife planted sunflowers again. And this time, they grew. They actually grew. And they are amazing.

Homeschooling can be like this.

So homeschooling moms, with God’s leading, you can do it.

No matter what ages, what grades or the number of children in your family, you can do it.

Sure, you’re going to struggle. You’re going to feel as if this year isn’t going to take. Perhaps you’ve considered homeschooling a failure in the past.

But don’t give up. God will be glorified through your efforts.

Homeschooling dads, give your a wife a hug. Tell her she’s got this with the Lord’s help. Get involved yourself, and stay involved no matter how crazy your work schedule. God will be glorified through your efforts.

Homeschooling children, be sure to appreciate your parents efforts on your behalf. Do your homework. But more importantly, recognize that this is your purpose right now, right here. And God will be glorified through your efforts.

Then watch your homeschool family bloom, just like my wife’s sunflowers.
