Blood is a curious thing.
It makes one brother’s hair lean toward red, while the other’s is a solid (if somewhat mousy) brown.
It makes one a voracious reader of all things, and the other a brilliant mathematical thinker who likes a good book, but prefers to build.
It makes one tall and willow-thin, and the other sturdier and strong as a young oak.
And then, there are brothers whose relationship is built on things deeper and more meaningful than DNA and biological proteins.
There are brothers whose love is built on shared history.
Proximity.
Daily interaction.
Acceptance.
Love.
To the casual observer, all of this is invisible. Three boys, gathered around a shared project. Working. Being a team. But to those who have eyes to see, let me whisper to you that this is a miracle. This is small taste of what we will be party to in heaven. This is adoption. Thicker than blood, more precious than gold. Brothers.
I love this picture of heaven.
Me, too. It makes the moments when things are less than beautiful all the more precious.
I love your boys! One of my favorite relationships to watch in my house is the big-little bro love. 🙂
Absolutely! What is it about those interactions that make us stop and drink it all in?
Brother love is so wonderful to see. You have such great boys — I’ve never met them but I can see the love there.
