Today is Simon’s birthday. At the beginning of the month, when Phineas’ birthday was miraculously snowy, Simon said he was praying that he would enjoy the same kind of birthday morning: greeted by a white winter wonderland. God answered. On Christmas Eve, snow began falling. We had a white Christmas and, yes, now a white Boxing Day.
It was exactly what he’d asked for.
Seven year-old Simon has been a delight. I’m assuming 8 year-old Simon will be this same. This boy is spunky, unique, passionate, fiery, and curious.
He keeps us all laughing, and his bold, adventuring spirit encourages us all to step out of our comfort zone and see the world from his very creative angle.
With all of my children, I see how perfectly God knew exactly who and what our family needed. Simon was the missing piece bold joy I didn’t know I was missing all those years ago.
Happy birthday, Simon. I am so grateful God chose me to be your mother!
