Homeschooling isn’t easy. When we can streamline and coordinate subjects, this lessens the homeschooling parent load, mentally and logistically. It also makes field trips & other extras easier, connects siblings, creates conversations within the family, & builds meaning and connection. This kind of learning works exceptionally well for large families, as well as for smaller families desiring to encourage the “one room schoolhouse” feel. This model of homeschooling is labeled “integrated”— as in, you are integrating all of the elements.
Integrated co-ops connect all of subjects are into a theme. In the Konionia Homeschool Fellowship, our theme centers on a specific period of historical study. So, our family read-alouds, science studies, fine arts, songs, poems, and art will all be from that time period – for all ages!
For the 2023/24 School Year, our curriculum choices are:
History, Literature, Geography, and Writing:Â BiblioPlan Modern History
Elementary + Middle School Science: Science in the Industrial Age
High School Science: Chemistry in the Kitchen
We will be meeting on Mondays in Knoxville, TN, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. We are currently enrolling PreK-12th grade.
